After 35 years of dedicated and committed services to Mother Ghana through the Ghana Education Service, Mr. John Tayward Tetteh proceeded to compulsory retirement after attaining the retirement age.
The sports fraternity in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Directorate and other stakeholders organised a mini sports festival on Friday, July 7th, 2023, at the Agormanya R/C School Park to bid farewell to Mr. John Tayward Tetteh, the outgoing Sports Vice Chairman of the Manya Kpongunor/Agomanya Circuits Sports Federation.
Mr. Tayward started his teaching journey at Konkoney L/A JHS in 1988. He taught there for 6 years and then joined Agomanya R/C in 1994–1999 as a Mathematics teacher. During his stay at Agomanya R.C., he worked as a Sports organiser for the Circuit.
After further studies, he was posted to Akropong School for the Blind, where he taught Mathematics for nine years (2003–2012).
He was then transferred back to Agomanya R.C. JHS as a Headteacher until his retirement on July 5, 2023.
During that period, he took over the administration of sports from Mr. Henry Nartey Tetteh in 2014.
He was very dedicated. During his tenure, the area recorded incident-free sports festivals.
The zone has chalked up a lot of successes. They have retained football, netball, and athletics trophies on several occasions at Zonal tournaments.
The zone has produced a lot of athletes who represented the municipality and the Region at sports tournaments for basic schools. In all, he worked in the teaching fraternity for 35 years (1988–2023).
Mr. John Tayward Tetteh, on the day of your retirement, we say Ayekooo.
