The Odumase Council, King makers of the Manya Krobo Traditional Council has officially confirmed the destoolment of the Paramount Queen Mother of the Area, Nana Aplam II for failure to perform her primary responsibilities assigned to her.
A statement issued and signed by the secretary to the Odumase council and copied to Kroboland.com said the Queen Mother, five year after her installation failed to perform her primary duties, responsibilities and obligation to the standard of the Manya Krobo stool.
The statement said the decision was arrived because Nana Aplam II failed woefully in representing and positively advancing the interest of the paramountcy.
It added that, she also failed to provide effevtive leadership, supporting and advocating on behalf of other queen mothers, children, adolescents, orphans, women as well as the vulnerable through programs such as service, counseling and mediation.
“Taking all these areas of failure by the Paramount Queen Mother into consideration, the Odumase Council is satisfied that it engage impartial, fair, and respectful process before taking this all important decision” the statement read”.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, Kroboland.com published a story alleging the destoolment of the Paramount Queen Mother Man Aplam II.
The decision for her destoolment was linked to her recent marriage to one Lawyer who said to be a relative of the head of Manya Division, Nene Sasraku IV, from one of the five breakaway divisions under the traditional council.
Meanwhile, the traditional council failed to confirm or deny such allegations until the official release on Tuesday 19th May, 2020.
The Konor, Nene Sakite II also turn down all proposed meetings by groups particularly some youth groups who sought to seek clarification about the news making waves as his outfit directed them to interact with the leadership of the Odumase Council who took the decision.
Meanwhile, the camp of the Queen Mother, Nana Aplam II Also vowed to seek legal redress.
Nana Aplam II was enstooled the Queen Mother of the traditional council in 2015 after the death of the former queen mother, Nana Mamle Okleyo who passed on in 2012
