Nomo Enoch Awasabi Gbertey who is popularly known as “Fufui mi puɔ”, head of the Gbertey Family of Piengua Division in the Manya Krobo Traditional area on Sunday 19th September, 2021 reconciled with Nene Sakite II, Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional area.
Nomo Gbertey together with his entire family rendered an unqualified apology to Nene Sakite II and his elders for joining the rebellions against the overlord of the Manya Krobo Traditional State.
Before the 23rd October, 2019 Press conference which led to four of the traditional divisions in the area parting ways with, Nene Sakite II and the Traditional leadership in the area, Nomo Gbertey said he blindly followed self acclaimed Piengua Divisional Chief, Nene Tetteh Zogli III who is known in private life as Mr. Francis Osakonor to show gross disrespect to His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite II in a meeting organised by the Traditional council.
Nomo Gbertey surrounded with one big Ram and bottles of Schnapp to seek clemency and forgiveness from, Nene Sakite II and the traditional council.
Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite II who also doubles as the President of the Eastern Regional House of chiefs in his response to the move by Nomo Gbertey says it was in the right direction despite it being late, he added it’s better than Never.
He said as the father of the Manya Krobo Traditional area, he has whole heartedly forgiven Nomo Gbertey and his entire household for realizing their mistakes and pleading for forgiveness and reconciliation.
Nene Sackite II tasked Nomo Gbertey to use his influence in the Piengua Division as the oldest elder in the area to make things right in the division which has shown gross disrespect and rebellions to the Royal Stool of the Manya Krobo Traditional area in the past for the best interest of development and peaceful coexistence.
Mr. Michael Samadji Partey, Chairman of the Ngmayem Festival Planning Committee who was part of the delegation that visited the Royal Palace on Sunday 19th September, 2021 expressed his heartiest appreciation to his Royal Majesty Nene Sakite II for accepting their apology in good faith as he applauded His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite II for the fatherly Love and compassion expressed towards his Son and Subject Nomo Gbertey and his entire household.
