Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has louded the leadership of Kpong Hawkers Association for the extraordinary leadership of the Association especially in this trying times of Covid-19 pandemic.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh made this statement at the annual special conference of the Kpong Hawkers Association held at Kpong on Tuesday 20th April, 2021 to render detailed accounts and operational report to their members.
The Kpong Hawkers Association has greater number of its membership drawn from the Abolo sellers which is one of the indigenous foods that Kpong in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has been known for over the years.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, addressing the gathering acknowledged the outstanding efforts and support of the leadership of the Kpong Hawkers Association to his leadership as the Municipal Chief executive for the past 4 years.
He further congratulated the leadership of the Association for this effective leadership which is being guided by the principles of transparency and accountability which is key to the success of any human institution.
The Hon. MCE responding to some of the issues that came up during the open forum session of the meeting assured the Hawkers gathered of continuous support from the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly under his able leadership as he entreated them that for the Municipal Assembly to be able to continue supporting them, they must also be law abiding citizens by paying their taxes and levies to the authorities since that in returns will come back to them in development and other initiatives such as the numerous PPE supports they received during this Covid-19 pandemic times.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh concluded listing some of the great initiatives of the ruling NPP government that Kpong has benefited including several infrastructure developments at the basic schools in the area as well as school feeding program at most of the basic schools which has increased enrollment at the basic level over the past years.
The President of the Kpong Hawkers Association, Ms. Christiana Atroh on behalf of the Association expressed their heart felt appreciation to the Hon. MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and and his team of Management Members for making time to attend their special Annual conference to address some of their grievances as she assured him of their continuous cooperation and support for smooth administration of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality for more development and progress in the right direction.
