Management of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly on Monday 19th September 2022 met with stakeholders in the transport sector.
The very interactive engagement which took place at the Municipal Assembly Hall had representatives from all the driver unions in the Municipality.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for the area addressing the gathering commanded the leadership of the various driver unions in the area for attending this all important meeting which seeks to address some important issues in the transport sector in the Municipality.
The Hon. MCE appeals to the leadership of the various driver Unions to find possible ways to peacefully coexist in several of the situation where they happen to share the same stations which is the only way to develop the stations and enhance their transportation business as well.
He further continue to advise the driver Unions present to start exploring the option of having their Lorry Stations near the Kpong Railway Station which is likely to boost their operations immediately the almost completely Tema to Mphakadan Railway Project is commissioned which will surely not be long from now.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh assured the gathering that the Municipal Assembly under his leadership is working serious with other stakeholders to get the road network in the area improve most especially the Kpong to Somanya highway as well as the Akuse Junction to Akuse Township roads which are all currently in a very bad state.
Mr. Kwabla, who represented PROTOA, Odumase-Krobo Branch on behalf of all the other leadership of the Drive Unions present at the Meeting expressed their heart felt appreciation to the Management of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly for giving them this opportunity to make their problems known to them.
He further entreat the Assembly to as a matter of urgency fine solution to the waste Management problems at the Odumase Main Lorry Station.
Police Commanders from Akuse District Police Command and Odumase District Police Command with other security heads were present at this all important stakeholders meeting.
The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Selorm Kwame Tibu thank the driver Unions for responding to the call from the Municipal Assembly and as well coming to this all important meeting as he assured them that their all important inputs will be well factored into taking the developmental decisions of the area.
