In a colourful ceremony held in the early hours of Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at Manya Kpongunor, the newly installed chief of Atua-Manya Agbasi with the stool name Asafoatse Odjeblema Angmortey I, swore the oath of allegiance to Okpatakpla Sasraku IV, the Divisional Chief of Manya Aklomuase, as tradition dictates.

Known in private life as Francis Ebenezer Doku, the newly installed Asafoatse holds the rank of Commissioner of Police. Until recently, he served as the Djase of the Manya Agbasi clan, which encompasses Kpongunor and Atua, bearing the name Djase Angmortey Yohuno.

Having received the green light to install their own chief, the elders of Atua-Manya Agbasi meticulously nominated, captured, secluded, installed and officially outdoored him as the Asafoatse of Atua Manya Agbasi on September 8, 2023. This event gathered high-ranking members of the police administration, including the Inspector General of Police (IGP), in Atua Manya within the Manya Krobo Traditional Area.

The oath-swearing ceremony before Okpatakpla Sasraku IV solidifies Asafoatse Odjeblema Angmortey’s legitimacy as the Asafoatse of Atua Manya Agbasi.

The ceremony was occasioned by the singing and dancing to the native Klama amidst cheers from the enthusiastic audience.

Asafoatse Odjeblema Angmortey pledged his loyalty to the Manya Aklomuase Divisional Stool. Divisional Chief Okpatakpla Sasraku IV also encouraged the elders and residents of Atua Agbasi to extend their support to the new chief.

We, at Leyla Images and the KroboLand group, extend our best wishes to the new chief for a long and successful reign.
