The Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has been allocated two major infrastructure projects in the phase two projects under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program.
This was after the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, broke the ground for construction works to commence.
The Projects are Modern Business Resources Center which comes with 300 seater capacity multipurpose Conference Hall and other modern facilities for the Assembly and a Bituminous Surfacing of 1.20km Canna-Kpanyas town road.
The Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program is a performance based development initiative by the Ghana Government and some international partner like the World Bank.
The Lower Manya Krobo Municipality is one of the 6 MMDA’S in the Eastern Region to be benefiting from this important development initiative base on the Assembly administrative performance.
Under the phase 1, the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality is currently having under construction 188 Lockable stores Projects at Agormanya Market which is progressing steadily.
Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong assured the gathering of Chiefs, stakeholders and the good people of Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of his preparedness to make sure the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality received its fair share of the development cake.
He further appeal to the traditional leaders and stakeholders present to ensure peaceful coexistence among their people since that’s the only way the area can be developed with support from their numerous development partners.
Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong in his address during the sod cutting ceremony applauded the entire management and staff of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly under the able leadership of Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for the Municipality for making the pass marks which resulted in this massive infrastructure boost in the area.
Asafoatse Teye Adjiso III of SUISI Menekpo Wekpeti who led the traditional delegation to represent the Overlord of the Manya Krobo Traditional area, Nene Sakite II expressed their heartiest appreciation to the NPP government under the able leadership of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the several development infrastructure projects given to the area within the past four years.
To mention a few, Asafoatse Teye Adjiso III listed the several infrastructure facilities like the 12-Unit 2 Story Classroom for Makrosec, Krobo Girls SHS and Akro Technical SHS as well as the 3 CHPS for Wawase, Oborpah Djikiti and Piengua Yokwanor to will help in bring health care to the people living in the remote communities of the Municipality.
Asafoatse Teye Adjiso III concluded his speech with words of applause and commendation to the President’s representative in the area, Hon Simon Kweku Tetteh for his selfless and dedicated leadership over the years which has brought several developments to the area as well as peace among the people.

Seth Kwame Acheampong, Eastern Regional Minister.
He pledge his continuous commitment to lead the transformation agenda of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality as he assured the contractors of maximum cooperation and support from the Municipal Assembly for smooth execution of the project to benefit his people.
