Lower Manya Krobo Municipality is set to receive more infrastructure boost under the Secondary Cities Support Program, the MCE, Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for the Municipality has disclosed.

He said this when he together with team of Management of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Selorm Kwame Tibu hosted a team of senior officers from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural
Development on a tour of the proposed project sites under the initiative.

The technical team and the Management of the Municipal based on the community needs assessment proposed among others 1km Bituminous Surfacing of the Atua Government Hospital road from the Junction to the Main entrance of the hospital as their priority project.

The other projects they proposed to the team from Local government are the Bituminous surfacing of 2km Abanse Bank Junction road which will join the Kpong to Tema motorway somewhere before Akuse Junction.

Manaam Junction and Amanetieko both to receive major storm drains under this pack 3 of the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program to help permanently resolve the flooding problems that frequently hits that 2 main ares whenever it rains in the Municipality.

The Hon. MCE and his management among others also proposed mini storm drains to be constructed at Yohe, Odjam and some other flood prone areas in the Municipality to address that challenges.

The Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program is a performance based development initiative in partnership with the World Bank and the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly is the only Assembly in the Krobo Land area which has benefited from the Program since.

The Assembly received 188 Lockable Market stores Project at the Agormanya main Market under the first phase of the Program and subsequently received a Modern Storey Building for Business Resources Center at the Municipal Assembly and Bituminous Surfacing 1.20km Canna to Kpanyas Nuaso Newtown roads under the Second phase of projects which are all currently at advance stages near completion.

The Municipal Assembly by hardwork and proper administration procedures have qualified for the third phase of the development fund under the Program as they have commenced with the documentation for implementation and execution of the above mentioned projects which when completed will bring great relief to the people in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
Senior Financial Analyst from the Ministry of Local Government, Mr. Ampadu who led the team from the Ministry applause the Management and Staff of the Assembly for doing all possible to qualify for this fund for the third consecutive time as he congratulates Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality for his great and responsible leadership.
He entreat the Management as well as the Technical team of the Assembly to commence with the Stakeholder engagements as well as other consultations and documentations in time so that it doesn’t delay the commencement of the projects which will surely be starting soon.
The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Selorm Kwame Tibu in the meeting with the team from their Mother Ministry assured them of the readiness and preparedness of the Assembly to welcome the projects at anytime.

Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh used the opportunity to expressed his heartiest appreciation to the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not forgetting the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council under the watch of the Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong and the Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development Ministry under the able leadership of Hon. Dan K. Botwe for their extraordinary efforts that has brought this massive infrastructure transformation to his Municipality.

He continue to assure good people of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of his Maximum commitment to continue leading the dedicated and committed staff of the Municipal Assembly to keep working hard in the best interest of bringing more developments to the area.
