On Thursday, May 18th, 2023, Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe, Local Government and Rural Development Minister, and Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, Eastern Regional Minister, paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite II, Konor of Manya Krobo State, who doubled as the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs at his Palace in Odumase-Krobo.
Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe, together with Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, officially informed Nene Konor of the good news regarding the approved facelift of some major roads and inner roads in the area.
The Kpong to Somanya highway, the Atua Government Hospital road, and the Abanse Bank Junction to Kojo Town inner road will receive major construction under UDG 3, as the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly has qualified for the Twelve Million Ghana Cedis funding under the Secondary Cities Support Program.
Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe assured Nene Sakite II that if all things go as planned, construction will commence on all the said projects within the month of June 2023.
Nene Sakite II commanded Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh and the entire work force at the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly, as well as the Local Government Minister and the Eastern Regional Minister, for the various roles they played in making sure the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality continued to benefit from these all-important performance-based grants for various development projects in his traditional area.
