The Krobo Youth Old Stars secured a 2-0 victory over their counterparts from Yilo Krobo in a thrilling friendly match held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Agormanya R/C School Park. The game, which formed part of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebrations, also served as a homecoming for some of the legendary players who once graced the field for the great Krobo Youth F/C.


The match rekindled memories of the golden days of football in Krobo Land, featuring clubs such as Krobo Youth F/C, Oklibone F/C, Real Kpong United, Juventus F/C, Djagbo F/C, Talons, and Asesewa United. Fans were treated to an exciting display of talent, with veteran players demonstrating their enduring skills on the field.

One of the highlights of the game was the return of Snr. Appiah, a prolific striker who led the attack for Krobo Youth F/C in the past. Making a rare appearance after years of absence, he delighted the crowd with his impressive footwork and game intelligence.

The game saw Saayoung opening the scoring for the Krobo Youth Old Stars, setting the tone for an entertaining encounter. The second goal came from Odjidja, who, despite carrying extra weight, proved that he still possessed his striking prowess. With a powerful long-range shot following an excellent first-time ball control, he sealed the victory for his team.

As part of the homecoming celebrations, the Krobo Youth Old Stars made a generous donation to Coach Alos of the current Mighty Krobo Youth F/C, recognizing his dedication to training young talents and keeping football alive in the Krobo community. The donation included:

Football and other sporting equipment
An undisclosed amount of money
The team also assured Coach Alos of their continued support in the future.


Earlier in the day, the Krobo Youth Old Stars paid a visit to some of their former teammates who are currently unwell. As a gesture of solidarity, they offered financial assistance to support their well-being.
