The first in-take of 233 students under the free TVET at the Community Development Vocational Technical Institute, Kpong were visited by Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
As part of the Hon. MCE working tour to the area on Tuesday 27th September 2022 paid a visit to the School which is located in the VRA Resettlement Community, Kpong to check on how the students are faring under the initiative which is new to the school.
The Hon. MCE who was accompanied by the Assembly Member for the area, Mr. George Quarshie and some other unit heads from the Municipal Assembly had the opportunity to visit all the students in their various departments and have a word with them.
The Hon. MCE assured the students of Government’s support in terms of infrastructure among others since the introduction of this free Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) initiative by the ruling NPP government has increased the initiate in-take enrolment of the School.
He continue to advise them to take this opportunity to study under this special initiative serious since it’s going to prepare them with self employment skills by the time they are done with their 3 years of studies not like their colleagues in the Senior High Schools.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh challenge the students to study hard and take their practicals equally serious since their results at the end is the only way to vindicate H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of Republic of Ghana for positively investing the tax payer’s money into their education under the TVET system.
Madam Hannah Owusu, Principal of the School expressed his gratitude to the Hon. MCE and his visiting entourage for making time out of their busy schedules to visit the school and have first hand information about the current conditions of the school.
She appealed to Government through the Hon. MCE to as a matter of urgency to factor their infrastructure needs into their plans since that’s the only way they can smoothly continue to run as their numbers are going to continue to increase under the free TVET initiative.
She on her own behalf and on behalf of the Management and staff of the School expressed their heartiest appreciation to H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for adding their School under the free TVET program.
