Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, Eastern Regional Minister has assured His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite II, Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional area and the good people of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of a full scale investigation into the sad incident that occurred at Akro Technical SHS which led to the death of one person.
The Minister on Wednesday 26th January, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Manya Krobo Traditional area and the immediate family of the late Emmanuel Kpabitey Sackitey, the young man who was lynched by some students of Akro Technical SHS to Commiserate with them.
Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong addressing Nene Sakite II at his Palace acknowledged the key role he played in restoring calmness to the area after the unfortunate incident.
He further continued to expressed his heartiest condolences to Nene Konor and the bereaved family as he assured them of a transparent and full scale investigation into the sad incident since that’s in the best direction of serving justice to the bereaved family.
Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong appealed to Nene Sakite II to continue giving active support to the Municipal Security Council under the able leadership of Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality to be able to safeguard the peace in the area.
Nene Sakite II, Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional area applauded the swift response by the Regional Minister and other stakeholders in the Region to the issues happening in his Traditional Area.
Nene Sackite II furthermore advise the Hon. Regional minister to monitor the progress of the investigation as he assured them since that’s the only way justice can be served to all affected parties in this unfortunate incident.
Nene Konor used the opportunity to call for continues calm in the area as he appeals to the aggrieved Youth to desist from using violence measures to redress this unfortunate situation but rather trust both the Traditional and Administrative leadership in the area as well as the Regional level who are working tirelessly to deliver justice at the end.
The Hon. Regional Minister and his visiting entourage made up of the Eastern Regional Education Director, Mrs. Margaret Nsiah Asamoah and other stakeholders from the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council visited the campus of Akro Technical SHS as they were brief by the Headmaster of the School, Mr. Charles Ossom Baah on what really happened at the late hours of Friday 21st January, 2022 leading to the death of the Late Emmanuel Kpabitey Sackitey which led to a reprisal attacks from some aggrieved youth on the School community.
The Akro Technical SHS on Sunday 23rd January, 2022 has been closed down by the Eastern Regional Director of Education during his emergency visit to the School as students are expected to return back to School on 7th February, 2022.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh assured the Hon. Regional Minister and his visiting entourage of his continuous commitment to engage all stakeholders in putting the right safety measures in place ahead of the reopening of School as he used the opportunity to appeal to the aggrieved youth to remain calm as they working tirelessly to restore peace and order in the School.
