Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has fulfilled his public pledge to Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaah Sasraku II, Konor of the Yilo Klo Traditional Area, by donating a brand-new Nissan Navara utility vehicle to the Yilo Krobo District Hospital.
The promise was made during the Vice President’s recent visit to Somanya, where he participated in the grand durbar of the 2024 Yilo Kloyosikplem Festival. Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaah Sasraku II had appealed for the vehicle to support the hospital’s operations. On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the vehicle was officially handed over to the hospital’s management.
A delegation led by Hon. Osofo Manfo, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, and Hon. Jeff Konedu Addo, Eastern Regional NPP Chairman, presented the vehicle’s documents and keys to the hospital through the traditional leadership of the Yilo Klo Traditional Area.
The delegation also appealed to the people of the Yilo Klo area, through their leaders, to support the NPP in the upcoming general elections by voting for Dr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng as Parliamentary Candidate and Dr. Bawumia as President, emphasizing the government’s track record in delivering development to the constituency.
Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaah Sasraku II lauded Dr. Bawumia for his reliability and commitment, describing the fulfilled pledge as a testament to his leadership and integrity.
Dr. Francesca Mensah Darkwah, Medical Superintendent of the Yilo Krobo District Hospital, expressed gratitude on behalf of the hospital’s staff and stakeholders. She assured all parties that the vehicle would be used efficiently to enhance healthcare delivery in the district.
The donation highlights the NPP government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and services in the Yilo Krobo Constituency and beyond.
