The Honourable Assembly Member for the Good People of Asitey in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Hon. Edmund Asare, donated math sets and drawing boards to candidates in 3 schools in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area in the early hours of today, Monday, June 3rd, 2024.
The beneficiary schools are Asitey Presby JHS in his electoral area, as well as Ayermasu R/C JHS and Akumesu D/A JHS in the Upper Manya Krobo District. All candidates in the schools received brand new math sets for all the candidates and some drawing boards for those that couldn’t afford them as they prepared for their BECE.
Asitey Presby JHS also received some teaching and learning materials for the JHS to help in preparing their candidates.
Hon. Edmund Asare, addressing the students, teachers, and some Unit Committee members of the Asitey Electoral Area, publicly announced the decision of the electoral leadership under his able watch to sponsor five best students to the senior high level and possibly beyond, as well as provide breakfast for all the candidates of Asitey Presby JHS throughout their BECE writing week as a way of motivating the students.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the candidates to, as a matter of urgency, put aside everything that will distract their attention as they prepare for their BECE, which is a big stepping stone to their academic future as the next generation of the Asitey Township is in their hands.
Mr. Makafui Duho, Headmaster of Asitey Presby JHS, on his own behalf and on behalf of the entire school community, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to their Hon. Assembly Member for coming to their aid, as he assured him that they, as teachers, are well prepared to give their all in the best interest of making sure their students are ready for the task ahead.
