As part of efforts to curb the recent market fires in Ghana, the Somanya District Fire Command has deployed fire officers to major markets in the Yilo Krobo Municipal capital, Somanya, for night patrols to ensure market safety.

Speaking to the team leader on this special assignment, Station Officer II Isaac Oteng, he emphasized that the Somanya District Fire Command, under the directive of the National and Regional Commands, has taken this initiative very seriously. He noted that for weeks now, their night market watch operations have been instrumental in safeguarding traders’ properties in the Somanya markets.
