This New Year’s Day, Okpatakpla Sasraku IV, the Divisional Chief of Manya Aklomuase in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, embarked on a surprise tour to visit his subjects in their homes, ensuring that the new year found them in good health and spirits.
During this thoughtful gesture, the chief had the rare opportunity to interact with some of the elderly in his jurisdiction, whom he had not been able to meet for a considerable time. The tour covered key areas under his authority, including Atua, Asitey, Agormanya, and Manya Kpongunor, where several of his sub-chiefs and their communities reside.
In an interview with Dr. Eric Tamatey Lawer, Divisional Secretary of Manya Aklomuase, he indicated that the surprise visit was to help the chief bond with his subjects, connect with the communities under his jurisdiction, and to wish his sub-chiefs and people a happy and prosperous new year.
In an exclusive interview with www.krobolandonline.com after the tour, Okpatakpla Sasraku IV extended warm New Year wishes to the general Krobo public, particularly the sons and daughters of the Manya Aklomuase Division. He encouraged them to stay connected to their roots and always remember their homeland, regardless of where life takes them.
Many of his subjects were pleasantly surprised and full of praise for this gesture. Some, who were still in bed or had just woken up after attending the 31st Night Midnight Service ushering in the new year, couldn’t hide their excitement at having their Divisional Chief visit them in their homes to check on their well-being.
This act of leadership and care underscores the chief’s dedication to the well-being of his people, fostering unity and goodwill as the New Year begins.
