As part of efforts by the Odumase-Krobo District Police Command to curb the spread of child abuse cases in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality met with the Municipal leadership of the Christian Council of Churches.

The meeting was held at the Immanuel Auditorium of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Agormanya on Thursday 17th June, 2021.

A team of Police officers from the Odumase-krobo District Police Command led by the District Commander of Police, Supt. Doris Akua Grant appealed to the Church leadership in the area to play active role in safe guiding the next generation of the society to a responsible future.

She further elaborated on the situations that calls for these sensitization and educative initiatives to protect the girl especially who are currently vulnerable due to some communal situation.

C/Inspt. Margaret Arthur, head of DOVVSU at the Odumase-Krobo District Police Command took the gathering through in her comprehensive presentation on the right of Children as well as the role of Parents when it comes to raising a child in the modern society.

She further entreat the Church leadership to get involved in guiding the children in their congregation since they will surely become the future of the congregation and their upbringing will surely have effects on the future of the church, the community and the country at large.

The District Police Command team expressed their readiness to meet the church communities in smaller groups as well as at Congregational level to give more education to Parents and children on their various responsibilities and rights for a better and proactive future.

Prophet Isaiah Larweh, Chairman of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Council of Church in his address during the gathering acknowledged that this move by the current leadership of the Police in the area is very positive and himself and the entire membership of the Municipal Council of Churches will do everything thing within their capabilities to support this all important initiative since it’s in the best interest of their children.
