1,904 people benefited from the 2-day free NHIS registration and renewal of expired cards initiative of the St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya.

The exercise, which was initiated by the management of the hospital to give back to their clients and the general public, has received an overwhelming response from the general public.

www.krobolandonline.com Speaking to the administrator of the hospital, Mr. Emmanuel Bosompim, in an exclusive interview, he said the turnout was mind-blowing since the hospital didn’t expect that large a number, but after assessing the first day of the 2-day programme, they realised that the number could go way above their expectations, so they quickly readjusted their arrangements with the NHIS office to be able to take care of their cherished clients.

He continues to state that the management of the hospital does not in any way regret it, but rather it gives them joy to meet this huge number at their point of need since the NHIS services play a major role in emergency case management when one does not have cash to pay for cash and carry services in the various health facilities in the country.

He concluded by assuring their cherished clients who couldn’t benefit from this immediate past programme that the management of the hospital will take this identified need of the general public deep into their plans and they will communicate the outcome to the general public soon, as he called on other stakeholders to assist and, if possible, partner with them to be able to do more in the best interest of delivering quality health care services in the Krobo Land area and beyond.
