LIFE HISTORY OF THE LATE NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II, DJEBIAM MATSE AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE MANYA KROBO TRADITIONAL COUNCIL, 1996-2001.
NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II, DJEBIAM MATSE and former President of the MANYA KROBO
TRADITIONAL AREA, known in the private life as NENE SAMUEL TAWIAH TEKPERNOR was born in JUNE,1923.
He was the 3rd son of the late NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH I of blessed memory and MADAM ADENI TEKPERNOR.
The late NENE ADIPAH II, very young and handsome boy was brought up by his late senior brother NUERTEY SIAKWAH at PLEKUMASE in the UPPER MANYA KROBO AREA, Nene was energetic and hardworking farmer and above all an obedient young boy who was noble and brave throughout his life time.
In 1939, when the late NENE OKLEMEKUKU AZZU MATE – KOLE II the then KONOR of the MANYA KROBO STATE was enstooled he caught the eye of TAWIAH TEKPERNOR who was a young handsome boy and invited him to stay with him at ODUMASE.
First NENE TEPKERNOR ADIPAH II in his youth thought NENE AZZU MATE – KOLE was his real father because of the parental care and guidance given to him up to 1965 when the late DJEBIAM WETSO MATSE, NENE AGBAU – NARH II died.
On the 7th October, 1966 the kingmakers of the DJEBIAM DIVISIONAL STOOL nominated NENE and enstooled him as the new DIVISIONAL CHIEF OF DJEBIAM with the stool name NENE TEPKERNOR ADIPAH II.
The period of his rule has been characterized by policy initiatives and activities, which led to the
awakening of his people and development of his division.
There was cordial relationship between NENE
and his ASAFOATSEMEI and MANYEMIE throughout his reign.
NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II throughout his reign established good working relationship also with the Churches, being a devoted Christian himself.
He practiced and attended Sunday Church Service at the SAISI – AGORMANYA NAZARETH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
During his reign he left no stone unturned in protecting the farmlands and his subjects.
NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II was married to MADAM MARGERET KORYOTSO AND MADAM JANET ABLAH. On the 15th March, 1990 when the late OKLEMEKUKU AZZU MATE – KOLE II passed away NENE ADIPAH II was nominated on the 22nd March, 1990 to be the Acting President of the MANYA TRADITIONAL COUNCIL.
He performed his duties efficiently to the satisfaction of the people of the Traditional Area. NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II is a peace-loving Chief who always wanted to help his people. He was really respected by his people.
He was an advisor and counselor to his people as he was a brave Chief who commanded a lot of respect. He cannot be taken for granted during his rule. NENE was ever prepared to defend his people.
NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II was an active member of the EASTERN REGIONAL HOUSE OF
CHEIFS in Koforidua until the 14th July 1997, when NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II was attacked by severe stroke and was rushed to the 37 MILITARY HOSPITAL for medical treatment.
Later NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II, recovered and was discharged from the hospital to continue regular medical check – ups.
NENE TEPKERNOR ADIPAH II served on a lot of Judicial Committees of the TRADITIONAL Council as He helped to settle a lot of chieftaincy disputes within his division and the Traditional Council in general.
His services to the Traditional Council were outstanding.
NENE TEKPENOR ADIPAH II had 8 children, 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who mourn him at as the time of his death.
The vacuum created by the death of the then WETSO MATSE will take has taken his people years to be filled.
The good people of DJEBIAM have really lost a great chief and a beave energetic statesman and a Ruler.
The ASAFOATSEMEI and MANYAMEI of AGBOM, NAM, YOKWENYA, and AGOME really miss you dearly.
Your colleague Divisional Chiefs of PIENGWAH AKWENOR, MANYA AKLOMOASE, SUSU and
DORM bid your farewell.
We have lost your wise advice and aspiration to fight common cause.
NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II passed away on FRIDAY the 27 July, 2001.
In conclusion, to say that, we shall miss NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II not would be colossal
understatement, but let us not mourn him like those without hope of the resurrection.
On the contrary, we should rejoice that we shall see him in God’s appointed time for here, we have no continuing city but we seek one to come (HEB. 13:12).
At this point PROV. 31: 28 – 31 sums it all up.

Many sons have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a man that feareth the Lord he shall be praised. Give him of the fruit of his hands and let his own works praise him in the gates. Praise the Lord.

Brave NENE TEKPERNOR ADIPAH II is no more.
