The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly commemorated Ghana’s 68th Independence Day on March 6, 2025, with a vibrant celebration that showcased the community’s cultural heritage and intellectual engagement.

The event, held at the forecourt of the Assembly, featured a rich display of cultural performances alongside an anniversary debate, emphasizing the importance of tradition and education in the municipality.

In previous years, such as the 66th Independence Day celebration, the municipality hosted similar events at Larsi Park in Odumase Krobo, which included parades, cultural exhibitions, and active participation from schools and community members.

The Special Guest of Honor, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, MP for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and Deputy Minister Designate for Interior, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education in the constituency.

During his address, Hon. Terlabi publicly announced a new scholarship scheme for girls from the municipality, aimed at providing financial assistance for their tertiary education, starting from the next academic year.

As part of his support for education, he made a cash donation to the Municipal Education Directorate and all participating schools to assist with their preparation expenses for future academic activities and events.
