The Headmistress of Akro Senior High Technical School, Mrs. Theresa Hushie, has made an urgent appeal to stakeholders, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the general public to help address the school’s severe furniture shortage.

Speaking at the official presentation of 121 desks on Wednesday, she acknowledged the government’s efforts in tackling the issue but emphasized that the school still requires approximately 700 more desks to meet the needs of students.

Mrs. Hushie highlighted that the lack of adequate desks and chairs is negatively affecting students’ comfort and academic performance. She stressed the importance of creating a conducive learning environment and called on individuals, corporate organizations, and NGOs to contribute by donating furniture or providing financial assistance.

“This challenge greatly impacts our students’ ability to focus and learn effectively. We are appealing to all well-meaning individuals and organizations to support us in providing the necessary furniture for our classrooms,” she stated.

This appeal is part of the school’s broader efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance learning conditions. The Headmistress remains hopeful that, through collective support, the institution can overcome this challenge and offer students a better educational experience.
