The leadership of the Fulani Community in Ghana are calling for justice for Sandra Moro, a 35 year old father of 5 kids who was murdered in cold blood on Saturday 23rd May, 2020 at Dawa, a farming community in the Ningo Prampram District.
The Fulani herdsman met his untimely death when he took his cattles for grazing somewhere in the Dawa community where he stays.
Sandra Moro went missing but found dead on Sunday 24th May lying in cold blood.
His master, Mr. Nicholas Dugbatse said the deceased earlier placed a distress call to him, Moro called to complained that he was being attacked by land guards who demanded that he gives them cattle for the upcoming Eid feast the next day but he denied as he called him asking the master what he should do.
Mr. Dugbetse said he then advised him to leave the cattle and run for his life and told him that he is coming with Police to rescue him but upon reaching the scene only the cattle were found with 3 missing.
Mr. Dugbetse further in his narration stated that upon discovering the hide of the Land guards which he alleged that they’re being kept there by the area Iman popularly known as Alhaji Abgo for his illegal activities, they found some abandoned meats and some traces of the cattle as the Police from the Ningo Prampam District Police Command has taken some evidence to assist them in their investigation as the body of the deceased is currently at the Police hospital awaiting autopsy.
Mr. Yukubu Musah Barry, General Secretary of Tabital Pulaaku international Ghana Chapter which is the international Association of the Fulani Community made this call when he led a delegation to mourn with the immediate bereaved family and the entire Dawa community who are in total shock.
In his statement listed several instances where injustice acts has been perpetuated against the Fulani Community in Ghana but no justice was served them which he called on the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to look into this Dawa incident to make sure justice is served them.
He continued to say that at places like Nakone in the Nankana District, 12 houses were burnt and 130 Fulani people are currently homeless same in Goriba Yagaba-Korore District, 24 houses burnt 180 people homeless as well as in Damango in the Savannah region, 30 cows were killed and 1 Fulani person shot dead.
He continued to state that in Dawadawa in the Kintampo District, 3 Fulanis killed and 14 suspects who were arrested but are all free now. Sabongida in Binbilla District about 70 cows for Fulani people were all killed this among others before the recent shooting of the innocent Fulani herdsman at Dawa in the Ningo Prampram am District.
The General Secretary called on the state authorities including the Official of Attorney General & Ministry of Justice intervention in this in human acts against the Fulani Community in Ghana.
Nene Addo Apemteng, elder in the Tesekpo community called on the state authorities to come to the rescue of the good people of Dawa since the recent arrival of the Land guard activities in the Dawa community and its surrounding communities, they have not known peace in their usual peaceful place as he also alleged the operations of the guard is being influenced and supported by Alhaji Ayekor and Alhaji Abgo who are the leaders of the Muslim community in the area.
