The priests and priestesses who supervise the initiation of the Dipo puberty rite have fix July 31 to commence the performance of the customary rite for the adolescent girls.

Nomo Enock Awasabi Gbertey of pierngua Osiekuse disclosed this on Thursday in an interview with Radio Ada.
He said, the dipo calander has been interrupted by the lock down in curbing the COVID 19 pandemic.
“The original date for the rites has passed but we have picked a new date to perform the rites for our adolescent girls who may not be able to wait till the coming year” Enock Awasabi Gbertey said.

Nokotoma Gbertey has stated further that, the rites will be performed in two batches instead of the the previous three.
The first batch will start with “soni muormi” custom on the 1st of August and the final one commences in the following week.
This was resolved in a meeting held by the “jemeli” under the auspices of Klemesi, the current occupant of Nana Kloweki shrine.
