Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has asked the two construction firms working on the 188 Lockable stores Projects under the Secondary Cities Program at the Agormanya Market as part of the Market upgrade initiative to speed up work.
The MCE in his statement said, the Municipal Assembly and the the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in collaboration with other international partners have made everything available to see the project completed within time. He said the constructors must the completed the project within the stipulated time.
He made his intentions known to the Contractors of WIN-Meg Ventures Ltd and Hawkrad Construction Ltd who are working on the project which is in 2 lots during a site meeting organised by the Municipal Assembly and the Project Consultant.
The meeting which was held at the ongoing projects site at the Agormanya Market on Tuesday 12th January, 2020 had all the relevant stakeholders invited.
The Market leadership was represented by Manye Korkor, Manya Krobo Markets Queen Mother equally appeals to the constructor to increase their workforce to enable them finish the work to reduce the inconvenient level at the market now.
Mr. K. A. Anus-Tutu, Project Supervisor from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development who led the team from the Ministry adviced the Contractors to up their game before Government takes actions against them since everything that must be done by the government and its agancies to facilitate smooth operation regarding this project has been done already and the rest of the responsibilities is on their shoulders.
Mr. Selorm Tibu, Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Coordinating Director suggested to the constructors that in the best interest of completing this project which is already far behind time, if there’s any issues that is causing the delays, the doors of the Hon. MCE and all the technical and administrative officers at the Municipal Assembly are always open for deliberations.
The CSOs in the Municipal were represented by the President of Youth and Women’s Empowerment (YOWE) in the person of Mr. Emmanuel Siakwah as all the heads of the Various Departments at the Municipal Assembly were at the Site meeting in their numbers.
