Accra Ubuntu Lions Club on Saturday 4th June, 2022 organised a Youth Skills Training Program at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish Hall, Agormanya for Youths in the Krobo Land area and beyond.

The participants were drawn from Kpong, Agormanya, Somanya and the surrounding communities.

They were taking through Bleach Production, Pastry Making, Comestics, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Production and Soap Making among others.

The very interactive session which lasted for hours afforded the participants the opportunity to learn this alternative income generation skills which will go a long way to enhance their standards of living especially in these times of global economic crisis.

Mad. Lamisi Adene the lead facilitator from Gihon Company Ltd, Accra who are the main partners of the Accra Ubuntu Lions Club on this project said she thinks this is the way to go to easily solve the problem of youth employment as she pledged their maximum support to help train more youth in the near future.

All trained Participants were presented with certificates after the successful training session.

Lion Seyram Freddy Ahiabor, Charter President of Accra Ubuntu Lions Club expressed his joy about the massive turn up which has not make their efforts go in vain.

He continued to emphasized that government can not solve the problem of unemployment alone and based on their recently finding relating to unemployment issues as a club despite their main focus being on child health related issues, they have decided to go this way to empowered the employed youth by giving self employed skills that will serve as sources of income to them which will take them away from crime.

Lion Isaac Rexford Maduku, Committee Chairperson for the Youth Skills Training program who doubled as the incoming 1st Vice President for next service year for Accra Ubuntu Lions Club in an exclusive interview with www.krobolandonline.com assured the Youth from the Krobo Land area of their commitment as a Club to frequently organize more of this similar self employment and skills training programs in the area to help battle the unemployment problems in the area.

He continue to challenge the first batch of their beneficiaries to go and enhance on the skills their acquired and make sure they also train others to help reduce the unemployment numbers in the Krobo Land area and Ghana at large.
